Their main goal is to improve the quality of life of residents as well as reduce crime rates. This scheme is working as part of the Safer Doncaster Partnership and has come as a direct response to increasing crime rates.
This scheme is being set out to increase security around the town and hopefully nip crime in the bud, stopping it before it even happens. Increased security will also mean offenders should be caught easier and reprimanded. However, as part of this scheme, the team will seek to hopefully work with offenders and potential offenders to change their behaviour and prevent repeat offences. They will also work with the victims of all crimes to ensure there is plenty of support offered to the residents.
The final components of this scheme include raising public awareness of both crime and the outcomes of any work done to tackle it, as well as supporting all victims affected. This scheme has already seen a dramatic decrease in crime rates and the council are hopeful it will have a positive influence over the summer months to make Doncaster a safe place to live once more.
